We love Excel V because it’s suitable for all skin colors and types. This state-of-the-art laser technology safely and effectively treats superficial and deep vascular concerns, pigmentation issues, and benign skin lesions. If you have questions, we have answers! Keep reading to learn everything you need to know about Excel V!
The Excel V laser is primarily known for treating vascular conditions, such as spider veins and broken capillaries. This laser can also treat benign pigmented lesions and sun-damaged areas. It treats vascular lesions by administering a unique high-power green laser, which is absorbed very selectively by the abnormal vessels.
The number of Excel V treatments needed will depend on various factors, including your vascular lesion’s size, thickness, and color. On average, it takes 2 to 3 treatments spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart to achieve the desired result. Superficial vascular lesions are typically the easiest to treat, and some patients may even notice significant improvement after just one treatment.
Excel V has effectively treated mild and severe conditions, including rosacea, diffuse redness, wrinkles, bruising, acne scars, and face and leg veins. The system may also have a cosmetic benefit for patients with skin lesions or scars from past injuries or surgeries. Several treatments may be necessary to achieve the desired result. Your natural skin tone and color will be restored at the end of the treatment.
Most commonly noticed are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin. In general, these side effects subside within 24 hours. Some patients may experience bruising, and, in very rare instances, blistering may occur.
Most patients find that the treated area significantly improves within 2-6 weeks of treatment. Your final results might not be apparent for several months.
When we use the Excel V laser for broken capillaries, the laser is absorbed by an abnormal blood vessel. The light is converted into heat energy, which causes the vessel to collapse and seal shut. Eventually, the body absorbs the unwanted vessel, and the skin returns to its natural color. Pigmented lesions are erased similarly.
Excel V treatments do not require topical numbing. Some patients feel a sting, similar to the snap of a rubber band against the skin, or a warming sensation during the procedure. The device contains an in-built cooling mechanism that protects your skin and minimizes discomfort for the duration of the treatment.
